Are you taking a vacation this summer (or this season)? Where are you headed and who's going with you?
This summer I am too broke (so far) to plan a proper holiday. In a few hours I am going to Brighton for the Great Escape Festival, and then I have three more festivals over the summer. They are going to be holiday I suppose, a series of long weekends in mud getting drunk and watching bands. Not a bad way to spend (some of) my summer. I'm also taking a week off work between 2 of the festivals, so Colin and I can stay in festival mood right through, drinking cider all the time, only eating off a barbecue, and wearing shorts even if it rains. Oh yes.
So my summer:
This weekend - Great Escape
Mid July - T In The Park (only Friday and Sunday as I have my friend Laura's wedding on the Saturday)
The week after - slumming it festival style
Weekend after T In The Park - Indian Summer
End of August - Connect
Where do you go to get away from it all?

Ideally it would be the west coast of Scotland, round about Fort William and Mallaig, but that's a tad extreme, so normally it would be the top of Arthur's Seat. It's in the middle of the city, but when you get up there it is so quiet, and you can see the whole of Edinburgh and over to Fife. I love it up there.

What's that secret dream job you've always believed you'd be good at, but never gone for?

It's not much of a secret, but I've always wanted to be a record producer. I think I could potentially be quite good at it, because I know I would pour everything into it. I want to be the new Phil Spector, Steve Albini, Kramer, Dave Fridman, Danger Mouse and Kanye West all rolled into one.
